Celestia Repaint by MillyT Celestia Repaint by MillyT
This is my repainted version of the Princess Celestia toy from the Target Canterlot set with Luna.

Almost entirely repainted with Delta Ceramcoat craft paint with finishing touches of pearl finish and sparkle glaze. I repainted everything but for her eyes which I left pretty much intact but for a bit of a redo with her eyelashes.

Took about 3-4 layers of white for priming, another 3-4 for the white areas for a finished look, 3-4 for each area of other colors as well and then three coats of pearl finish to get an overall good gloss going and two layers of sparkle glaze to get a good sparkle on mane, tail, horn and wings.

This repaint took about a week all together because I let the colors dry really good between coats so as to not screw up the finish with fingerprints or paint being smudged around to wrong areas.

Read how I did it on my blog and see some in-progress photos there as well: [link]

I just noticed that the Princess Celestia toy comes in all sorts of funky colors, it must have been a lot of work!

It was! I basically coated her in white and started from scratch (except for her eyes, I tried reproducing them to no good results so I kept the original paint for them) but otherwise it took a few weeks for all the coats of paint and finishes. I saw another set of her and Luna the other day and debated getting another one to do it again to sell...but I didn't get much feedback on my posting so I figured no one would be interested. They're probably all sold out now that the Black Friday sale has passed. I like painting figures and miniatures. ^_^

It was Warhammer 40K for me for quite a few years. ^_^
