Thus continues my pumpkin patch excursions for another year. I found, in the back of the pumpkin patch, a group of these strange looking pumpkins. I've seen them listed as gourds or "Cinderella pumpkins" because of their similarity to Cinderella's coach. However, I haven't looked up what the official name of these pumpkins or gourds/squashes actually are. What was interesting is that none of the pumpkins in that field were orange, just this strange mottled color of green, yellow, white, orange which made them extremely unique to me.
Every time I visit this pumpkin patch in St. John, MI (or near, I should say) I wish I could stay out there for hours taking photos. Even on a rainy day like this one, the mix of field, apple orchards to the south, sky and weeds always makes for an interesting photo shoot. It was REALLY cold that day though with a good wind whipping and strange misty rains passing through and then away again, so I only took a few shots this year.
