Twilight Sparkle Hoody

This was the fastest cosplay I have EVER put together and I did it all for $15. Hoody cosplays are usually cheap, but I was surprised at just how many people asked where I got it and if I would make them one!

Supplies are as follows: Purple hoody, 1 yard of pink/purple/sparkle sheer costume fabric from Jo-Ann's, a paper-mache cone, purple & white craft acrylic, stretchy cord, pink & sparkle fabric paint (I had wanted white but I picked up sparkle by accident), a bobbin of purple thread, pink and white squares of felt.

Soooo easy to make: Take the paper mache cone and cut it down to size (otherwise the horn might be too long), punch two holes for the stretchy cord to go through, this will attach it on your head (clear is a must!) and then paint the cone purple and add the lining in a darker (or lighter) color when finished. Set it aside to dry.

Take two corners off the purple felt squares and then glue two slightly smaller pink felt squares to them. Pinch the center bottom of each triangle and sew it, then once the glue is dry attach them to the hoody.

Open up the fabric and cut in half, taking a short side and basting, then squishing it all together to create the tail. Sew to the base of the back of the hoody. Attach a 5" strip of the fabric to the inside of the hood in order to create the bangs, cutting a line so the horn can peak through (I didn't have mine lined up properly but with a friend you can wear it and cut it with their help).

Very last step once everything is sewn is to take the hoody and stretch it out over a piece of cardboard (or I used the lid of a plastic box) and draw/paint the fabric paint into the design on either side of the tail for the cutie mark. Let dry flat overnight!

I think if you can find the right color base hoody, you could easily make any pony pretty quickly - make wings out of foamies, add other details as needed. If you CAN'T find the right color base hoody, making it yourself out of fleece would probably be your next best solution.

Good luck pony fans!
