This is Sparky the pikachu... I actually get a surprising amount of people who recognize him at conventions since he was the first pikachu to have a nickname in the anime series - maybe even one of the first pokemon in general with one!
One afternoon last summer after hurricane force winds ravaged the area knocking out our power for a week, I brought out the paints and started him out on the back porch. Nothing like a lack of computer or lights to go back old-school.
I usually bring the original with me to conventions but also sell small prints matted of him as well. I've had one offer for the original painting but decided not to sell it for less than $100... I'm pretty attached to it. I just wish the scans/photos of it were more accurate for color - he's actually really bright.
Acrylic paint on a canvas board...done in the space of 4-5 hours one afternoon last summer.

While it's very simple, you did an excellent job with the clouds and the shading on Sparky. The grass kind of ends up flattening Sparky a bit, but the colorwork on it is quite nice as well.
